Listening and Describing Assignment

On my way back home form work I got lost, I usually work at a different location and the train google told me to take was unavailable due to track maintenance. I was cold and angry so I decided to get some food to make myself feel better. I walked into this random restaurant, attracted to the ambience. I didn’t know what type of food they served and didn’t care. Once I sat down and looked at the menu I realized it was a Persian restaurant. I’ve never been to one so I was excited to try out their food. I was the only person there who obviously was not Persian so I was addressed in English. While waiting for my food I overheard other costumers speaking Persian and was intrigued, despite the fact that I didn’t understand what was being said. The Persian language is soft like a gentle breeze that passes by. Gentle enough to put one to sleep; it wraps around you in a warm embrace. An embrace that you wish never let go, because it makes you feel safe. One can be vulnerable and expose every secret. The language is intimate in the aspect of bringing to light what you would rather hide away. Then there is nothing to be hidden, because the anxious feeling of being judged or ostracized doesn’t exist within this language. It’s natural as breathing, and flows like a rhythmic river that feeds into itself. It’s self fulfilling; using its own energy to bring more energy. A never ending dream. A dream that feels so real you can’t make yourself wake up. You don’t want to wake up and face reality; the world is a scary place but not here. Here is where the birds chirps, here is where the bees collect their pollen, here is where the grass grows wild, here is where rain clears your thoughts. This is peace and tranquillity, this is what home feels like. It feels like your dog jumping with joy, wiggling their tail in excitement as soon as you open the door. The Persian language is being told and believing that everything would work out and be okay.
