Intel National Science Fair Semi-Finalist Showcases her Discovery
Samantha Garvey, a Intel Science Talent Search participant, was awarded as a semifinalist in the national competition. Her study of the mussel species gave her the opportunity to participate in the exhibition that was designed to showcase the scientific talents of individuals throughout America. Her research lead to a better understanding of the defense mechanisms of the aquatic mollusks. Along with the award, Samantha also gain national recognition for her title and appeared on “Today Show” and “Ellen Show”. The contributions made to the scientific world by Samantha and other researchers her age were made possible by Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. By celebrating discoveries made my young individuals, the exhibition provided the opportunity for pre-college students to showcase their talents and present their findings.
