Exciting Food Festivals and Fairs in New York

Diverse numbers of food festivals and fairs were held throughout the five boroughs during the summer between May 31st to mid-August of 2009. According to the New York Times article, Dave Cook recommends the Indonesian Food Bazaar, Philippine Independence Day Festival, and so forth. The Indonesian Food Bazaar is located at a parking lot of a mosque. Interesting dishes like chili-spiked croquette and beef noodle soup are served at $5 or less. The Philippine Independence Day Festival celebrates the country’s independence from Spain with traditional Philippine snacks like chicken and beef skewers and shrimp fritters. The festivals provide a fun and unique way of learning different cultures and traditions through their classic dishes for relatively cheap prices.
