The Temple Of Ganeša

For this interviewed I choose to interview Maruthi the priest, who performed the Homam, and Mukundan, a young priest who is in charge of  the designing of the gods. He is the one that dress them.  Unequivocally both priest said that there is no differences between “Hindu” life in America and India. If there is a difference, its not in the religious life or the culture. but in the life outside the temple. It is better than the life in India. Narayanan is a volunteer in the temple and he lives in America for the past 30 years. He have said that he likes India more because people there are more religious and over there, there is more culture and more temples, but he likes America because of the money. When it comes to the Hindu life everything can be changed but it is all depends on the individual and the changes he chooses to do in his life. I wasn’t expecting a priest to say that  his Hindu life has changed when he came to America, since the reason he came here for was to make sure nothing will change and that Hindus in America will be able to perpetuate the practices and rituals the same way they have done them for years.
