The Ganeša Temple, is located in Flushing, Queens. The main entrance is at the corner of Holly Avenue and Smart Street The reason this location was chosen for the temple is because there is a large concentration of Hindus in this area. The temple was build and constructed by artisans from India with the financing of the Society of North America and it was opened for worship in 1977 and the building was completed in June 1998. The temple is called Šri Mahã Vallabha Ganapati Devasthãnam. The Ganeša Temple is part of one of the largest community centers in Queens that has a wedding hall, an auditorium with seating capacity for over 700 people, canteen, kitchen and a large dining hall that hosts many events that take place in the community center like weddings, discourses and other cultural programs. The Temple offers a wide range of services like Abhishekam, Annaprasanam, Ganapathi Homam, Namakaranam, Satyanarayana Pooja, Upanayanam, Vehicle Pooja, and so on. There is a committee a that chooses the right people for the right job and they are all getting paid.
