What I look forward in this class is to focus and learn what it has to offer. I also look forward to reading and writing a lot since it is English after all. To be honest, it has hard to for me to write that much because i am not really all that creative in what I should write about. It takes time for me to think what to write, ranging from a few hours to a few days. There is also that challenge on what ideas I should put in my writing, and it gets complicated because whenever I have an idea, sometimes it will work but other times it won’t work, therefore I have to change all together, which once again takes time for me to think. I am also challenged by the amount of words I need to write, which takes time for me because I have to think of what new things to say, especially that will match with what I am writing about. What I look forward from my English instructor is to teach me the lessons on how to write an effective essay. I also want some advice on how to get good ideas for my writing and help me on how structure these ideas.

The way I manage my time between class and my personal is simple. I don’t work at job at the moment because I want focus on my studies. I work at a job if I am not busy with college. I am always at my house to finish my college work, therefore it is not that hard for me to do college and my personal life.

What I hope to gain from this course is the lesson of writing as much as I can because I know it will be important when to I do more college classes. The writing will also motivate me to keep working as much as I can.

  1. Hi Isaac,

You’re certainly right that writing is a foundational skill for college in general. I certainly hope you leave my class with some added tools and confidence to approach future class essay assigments and not feel overwhlemed. We will definitely work on structuring essays, as well as forming smooth transitions between ideas, and how to incorporate research into your writing. For now, let’s just take it week by week and not worry about how creative you think you are—that is not a helpful concern to focus on, so I suggest letting it leave your head. In this class, you will learn how to write more effectively—it’s that simple, and it is attainable.
