I want to learn and excel from every class this semester since each class will help me in the future to have a better chance of finding a better job, feel more confident in myself, develop a broad and critical vision, and become an independent person.
English 2100 class will be useful for me since English is not my first language. While it may be an obstacle for me by not being very proficient in English, I will give my best because English is the language of international communication, commerce, and finance. I hope to learn more English, especially in my pronunciation of the words, so I can communicate well with other people and be a better teammate.
I believe Professor Gordon has been helpful since I had asked her to repeat or rephrase words so I can fully understand what she was trying to say, especially for assignments. I am glad she is willing to help and not getting mad whenever I ask her with my silly questions.
I only have time at night and on weekends, so it is kind of hard for me to manage my time, but I try my best to finish everything at the end of every class or during weekends.
Finally, as I mentioned before, English is crucial, not only because it is the international language, but also because it will give me access to better education and the possibility of a better job. In addition, studying English is important because it will show me other cultures, lifestyles and different ways of thinking. I will be able to meet new and interesting people and understand their customs. In this way, I will discover aspects of myself or my culture that I had not reconsidered before. I cannot wait until I mastered my English so I can express myself fluently.

You should never be hesitant to ask questions. Asking questions is very helpful to a person’s learning. Best of luck with acquiring english!
I like the way you speak. Keep working hard so that you will find a great job. With your way of thinking, I know you will do good in this class. No matter how you speak English you will still do a good job speaking the language. Keep asking questions since it will help you succeed. I wish you luck in doing well not just in this class, but college in general.
Dear Carolina,
You are doing a great job so far of actively engaging in the class. Like I said on the first day, everyone will enter the class at a different level, and everyone will leave at a different level—what matters is that you take a few steps up from where you started. Never hesitiate to ask questions, whether in class or by email. I hope that this semester gives you some of the tools and confidence you will need to do well in each of your humanties classes, in which writing is a major part of the curriculum.
