I found it surprising to see that there are countries around the world like New Zealand and Brazil protesting over the death of George Floyd in which happened in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a single city in the United States. While it is no secret that police brutality has been an issue with not just race, but humans in general, there hasn’t been a response to the killing of George Floyd like before, let alone affecting countries outside the United States. I think the reason why countries outside the U. S. connected with the Black Lives Matter movement in the U. S. is because most people are staying home due to a global pandemic going on, and for that reason, they are checking throughout a website on any technological devices most of the time, and they come across news articles from time to time.

The reason why other societies are taking action by on society’s movement is because they also have a similar issue that has been going as the past can tell.  The United States get a glimpse of their issues from another country some of the time, but not most of the time. The U. S. tells very little about similar issues happening in other countries because they don’t want citizens to be more divided than usual. One example of the race issue happening is in the Netherlands, where they always had this issue going on for years. The Netherlands has a complicated government in which they don’t want to tackle the issue of race because they want to be viewed as a country where most people of any race gets along and don’t discriminate each other. The Netherlands wants to be viewed as a peaceful and happy country, when in reality, the race issue is a problem, but they don’t want to show it and spread it to other countries.
