A model minority is someone who is looked upon highly than the average population. This can be seen as a dangerous sign because it can be assumed everyone who has these similar traits like other are the same. In reality, while these types of people may have these similar traits, they have completely different personalities that goes with these traits. This type in particular serves for people based on the appearance, and it causes others to think that they are the same, and don’t look further into what the minority is actually thinking about.

The reason why Nguyen is talking about Asian Americans being ended due to the end of racism and capitalism, is because countries like the Unites States are still struggling to treat people equally. With racism, people experience similar traits based on the appearance and color. People fail to realize that everyone is different, and the reason people have these traits is because they learn it from one another. The reason he is saying that the end of Asian Americans will be the end of capitalism is because Asian Americans get paid differently compared others based on appearance and traits. Asian Americans getting the amount they get paid for creates unfairness for others, and in some cases at other jobs, it can be unfair to them.

Honestly, reading this essay makes me wish that everyone can be happy with one another. While it is understandable that there people who like and don’t like each other, I don’t think people should judge others based on appearance, color, and traits. To me, what matters most is they’re personality. If people take the time to communicate with any person they meet, they might get to know they truly are. Meeting and knowing others is great because even if don’t get the full insight in their life due to personal reasons, they can at least tolerate and be happy with each other.
