Family

I like to think of my family as a small business and its members the team. As with any group of people, they all have different personalities and ways of being. Different work ethics, different outlooks and get along in different ways. Managing people is a very important aspect in business. If your team is not on board your business will not be successful. Having clear rules and guidelines are things that are necessary when it comes to any team. It is important to attempt to understand your team members and give them a sense of value within the team. This way they will be self managed and value what happens to the team and organization as a whole. We take the time to investigate any issues our children are having and why their moods change or feelings are hurt; if they are having a bad day we sympathize. These things can also be used with teams of employees. Get your workers to value their relationship with you, respect you and have incentive to act accordingly.
