Ok it is not my turn to blog, however i i found this reading really interesting and here is my opinion.
Richard Dawkins who is the author really opened my eyes to Bible. He describes how modern morality today is different from that described in the scripture. Furthermore Dawkins breaks down and interprets several stories from the bilble. And boy are those immoral. Prior to reading this i have never thought about the bilble this way. it is sick. From what i read in The God Delusion people commited the most obnoxious acts ever. Such acts include “allowing your daughter to get gang raped and abused, having sex with your daughters, slaughtering anyone with opposite religious views, killing non-virgins, like really? How fucking sick is that? What the hell is wrong with people? And then you have these dumb religious psychos who live by the bible and worship it. Anyhow let me not get carried away with my strong opinions. Im going to talk about Dawkins.
The author provides good examples of how The bible goes against the morals and ethics we hold today. And indeed it does in numerous ways. It promotes wrong and immoral acts. I mean its wrong.
Ok but anyways, absolutism often arises based on the biblical morals. People try to dominate and promote their religion. They wish to destroy and kill off all others. And this belief is mentioned in the bible under monotheistis laws or something. Anyhow yeah this is what i gained from this reading. People just believe anything you want. You want to believe in god then please do so. But please dont mention the bible because someone who you dont even know or ever heard off wrote it. Whatever this is my response.
