About Us
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Weissman was re-envisioned by Dean Jessica Lang in 2020 to be a faculty-led, grassroots initiative coordinated by three Deans Fellows and a Faculty Alliance. The Alliance has representatives from all Weissman departments and meets monthly during the academic year. Weissman DEI is under the umbrella of the Associate Dean’s Office and directed by Interim Associate Dean Cheryl Smith, reporting to the dean.
Our Mission
Weissman DEI works to ensure access to learning, working, and research opportunities for all students, staff, and faculty at the School. The Alliance forms working groups each year to address issues of need as determined by the faculty. Coordinating with the dean and associate dean, WSAS DEI builds bridges across departments, units, and schools to build greater equity in higher education and a more inclusive society where we all can thrive.
