The Rubin Museum

Well the museum first off was pretty small it only had 5 floors. The museum itself fetured mostly Asian art from places like Tibet , India, China, even Japan I think(though there wasnt much from japan). The art itself was also mostly about religion, featuring statues, maskes, and paintings of varoius gods and deities; There were also stues dipicting important figures like women or animals(like a dog) which were made out of respect for their place in society and the duties which they had . Under each one there was some context about the god. Along with many religion basec art there was also what i guess was contemporary art. One artist (whose last named I cant remmeber) , Anne had photographic art in the musuem. For instance there was a a piece that depicted melting ice, which represented fluid in motion. There was also what looked like a row of rice filled plates in the musuem I didnt really stop to check what that was about but it did strange, kinda interesting too. I didnt think it was that the visit was bad although some of the Tibeten names for the god statues were really hard to pronounce( they were really long and filled with vowels and h’s).

Ah college…..

To be very frank i am Artem Kovalchuk and I think I’m a teenager living in his childhood. For my frshman year at baruch im mostly worried about being late to class, missing assignments because i will forget to check blackboard(i honestly think some of that stuff is overly complicated and harder to mange)and im also worried about the exams for my courses> the Reason for my worries? well seeing as how these things determine my overall grade in each course andalso dtermine wheter i pass or fail id say that was reason enough but then again the assignments have to managed through  the blackboard website this will almost definatly cause me to forget to check my course work, i despise managing ANYTHING through the use of a computer.

So far the college experiance isnt so bad the only real difference from highschool is the sheer size of the campus and the cost of my testbooks.Course work is also different, everything is manged thropugh a website wich we all have to check daily for updates like our homework assignments  -_____-. All in all I say the work required that we have put in to college is the main divider between highschool and college. No pain no gain right?

I think above all else my first year in college will do three things to change me.

1.I will become nocturnal with the lack of sleep that is bound to hit at one point.

2.I will no longer put any work off to the last minute, in other words i wont be as lazy i used to be.

3. I am definitly going to start budgeting my money(holy fudge college is expensive!)
