Professor Bernstein,

I think that Harlem would make an excellent neighborhood to cover because of the deep historical background and culture of the community. There has been new growth in the neighborhood, community issues and new business. I would like to feature this neighborhood and highlight great people’s stories for the upcoming assignments.

Harlem is a tremendous neighborhood and it has potential to be the perfect area to utilize for the stories in class. This is a very lively community in the city, and I am prepared to do research in efforts to secure great material for my upcoming assignments.

As a young child, I grew up visiting Harlem to spend time with my grandparents, and would love the opportunity to focus my assignments on this neighborhood.
