Westchester Bee Line Accepting MTA Metro Card

A majority of Baruch College students are commuters and use the subway to get around to school. Most of them have a subway station or bus near there home, but for those who are not living within in the five boroughs are commuting from Westchester or Long Island and use the Metro North Railroad or Long Island Railroad stations to get to school. It costs about $250 monthly for someone like me in Westchester to get to school and it takes me less time to get to school than many of those who are coming from Brooklyn or Queens. Starting April 1st the Bee Line bus company will be excepting the Metro North Card. People will be able to get to the city at a fraction of the cost.

I am glad to here that for some it will now be cheaper to get to school. I live in Long Island and it takes me about and hour and ten minutes to get to school and is also extremely expensive so I can relate to your blog. Unfortantely there will be no change it the cost that I have to pay commuting to school every week.

It’s about time! Recognizing commuters and the cost of commuting is a dialogue worth starting. County legislators have been slow to the take in incorporating Metro Cards for those of us who need to get into the city. Unfortunately, for us in Upper Westchester, the cost of time is still an issue.
