On the back of every dollar bill of American money reads these words, “In God We Trust.” However within these past few months, with such a economic crisis, are more people looking for spiritual comfort?

Sister Debbie Hodge of the Church of New Vision, located in  Section Five of Co-Op City, said, “There hasn’t been a decrease or increase in attendance since the economic disaster.”

Spiritually speaking the residents of Section Five have not been severely  impacted by the economic downturn.

Sistet Hodges explained, “We haven’t had a huge impour of people since 9/11. Pastor Hodges will always lend a hand to a member of the flock that is in need.”

As far as the expected state funds being cut, the Church of New Vision will not be effected. It’s a non-profit organization.

A member of the church, 45-year-old Sister Matthews said, “This church gave out food baskets for the Thanksgiving holiday to people who were hungry. If anyone in this congregation were ever in a financial slump Pastor Hodges has a benevolent fund that can be of some assistance.”

“There services on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and when in attendance members willingly offer tides and donations out of love for their Lord,” Sister Hodges said.

Some people deal with troubled times in their own way. There maybe individuals who have given hope on a higher Being. Sister Hodges reassures the community that the New Vision Church is here for anyone in need spiritually.
