Originally I had thought living in New York City would be filled with  excitement, glamour, and adventure. The anticipation of being able to explore the intricacies of such a colossal city left me on edge in the days prior to moving here. It’s not as if I moved to Manhattan from another state or city, I came from Queens. But, in the past month I have been so preoccupied with new classes and trying to find a new job that the wonders of Manhattan have gone by untouched.

The city offers an unlimited amount of possibilities…if you have enough cash. You know how they say ” you can make anything of yourself in NYC?” Well, apparently that’s not true if EVERY place that you go to apply for a job denies you. After numerous hours of hunting for a job, I am just about ready to start dancing on trains and playing my guitar for money. Each business establishment requires “prior experience”. BUT what do you expect from an 18 year old college student? How much experience can I possibly have after just getting out of high school?

Not to sound like the most cliche’ example of a college student but life has literally been filed with ramen noodles and obnoxious floor mates. Sometimes I just really miss being home. What made me ever want to leave home cooked meals, a comfortable room, and the peace and quiet of my own home? I especially miss my little Yorkie, Bella.
