Bonnaroo 2012

Bonnaroo is a music and arts festival that takes place every year on a farm in Tennessee. I like to think of it as this generation’s Woodstock and from what I’ve read, that’s exactly what it is. For four days every year, hundreds of people come together to rock out, get the creative juices flowing and chill out on the good vibes going around. I’m going to Bonnaroo for the first time this year and excited doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel.

Bonnaroo was started in 2002 and has been going strong ever since. The festival tries to find artists from almost every alternative genre of music for all of it’s stages (there’s tons of stages). People are expected to camp out on the concert grounds if they aren’t staying at a hotel. What’s so special about it is that people make nice little communities with their tents,  which is pretty cool. What makes this event special for me is that this is going to be my first time travelling without any of my family members (I’m going with my best friend). We’re planning on renting a tent because we agreed that if we tried setting up a tent of our own, we’d fail miserably (we’d be better off sleeping in mud). Some of the acts coming to perform (who I’m most excited for) are: Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Shins, The Roots, Aziz Ansari, Mac Miller, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar and tons of others.

Sounds dope right?
