We Are All Collage
Uhmerica: A visual essay
Procession #1: A drawing series in pairs
Volume 1
By Laura Foxman
2008
$20
This is a long handmade accordion style book with a wrap around cover. It is pretty thick so it has a lot of pages. It is made to open up and flip through the pages like a book. Inside is full of images that are blurry. That makes you look closer and harder at the page and make you think about what that image is. Inside the book are also drawings along with photographs. I like this style of binding because very little sewing and gluing is involved. It is a nice simple way to make a fast simple book.

This is a small sized book with a bright yellow cover with large red title that caught my attention. It is made with 2 hole pamphlet stitching. The cover is on a heavier stock paper and is wrapped around the book without being stitched. The inside features simple line drawings on regular white copy paper.

Micah Lexier: Name and Family Name

This book a spiral bound with a cardboard cover. I like the feel of the cover and the spiral binding is easy to handle. I don’t have to worry about bending or breaking the spine. The inside is made of semi-glossy paper filled with text and images from the exhibition.

“This book contains drawings of things in places that I found interesting whole spending time in East Hampton New York.”
The book is perfect bound. I like this because it looks very clean, but I will always be worrying about bending the spine too much. The cover is glossy and has regular copy paper inside. The inside is full of very rough drawings of places, items, houses, etc.
