EAB Fair

Overall impression: I was not very impressed by the fair overall. Compared to the NYAB Fair, the EAB fair had fewer works present in a much smaller space. It did feel like there were more people here than at the first fair, but that is mostly likely because everything was crammed into one floor that made even moving around difficult. Content-wise, the works were not as interesting here and there did not seem to be as much variety in terms of different binding styles. Aside from the content, the entire building had an overpowering smell of paint no matter where I went.

1.
Title: How to Make Books
Author: Purgatory Pie Press
Binding: Perfect
This work showed book-making techiniques similar to what we do in class. The book contained photos and text to describe these techniques which seems like it would be useful if someone wanted ot make books without taking a class.

2.
Title: This is a Paper Trinket for you to Wear
Author: ????
Binding: Perfect
This book had a very simplistic style for both its cover and the content inside, with the drawings providing some amusement with how bizarre they were .

3.
Title: March of the Absent Friends
Author: Mahomi Kunikata
Binding: Perfect
This book contained high quality drawings with many things going on in each page to the point of becoming somewhat confusing with the sheer amount of colors and shapes. The back of each picture contained postcard markings which seemed interesting to me because books are usually kept at home rather than taken apart and sent to others.

4.
Title: Cube
Author: Sol Lewitt
Binding: Perfect
Despite the name, this book was not actually cube shaped. Proportionally, the width and height did appear to match. In terms of thickness, however, it was noticeably flatter and I feel as if the creator of this book wanted to challenge the idea of a uniform cube.

5.
Title: Letters to a Young Artist
Author: Too many to list
Binding: Perfect
The book had an eye-catching cover that looked similar to what you would see on ransom letters used on TV with the miismatched letter pieces. The book contained letters from older writers who wrote letters to a fictional artist.

6.
Title: Diaries of a Young Artist
Author: Same as before
Binding: Perfect
This book had a drawn cover in a simple pencil/crayon-like style which contrasted well with the previously mentioned work. This book contained diary entries from younger artists who were not as well known as the writers in the other book.
