    wow…i really like it. It’s so odd that it screams look at me an then when you do look it’s so intricate you have to explore every part of the design. Good job!

  2. If the earth had more shading to make it look round it would look more real (if real is what you’re after). If you look at images of the earth from space you’ll see that one side is always darker than the other, that’s what makes round shapes look spherical.

    If the stars were smaller overall, and had some variety in their brightness, that might also help make it look more real. The texture on the water is rather large, if you made it a finer texture that would help too, as right now the water is popping forward more than the land.

    Where you are using the actual edges of the land to enclose or provide definition for the edges of the composited images, you are having more success than when you have undefined edges. So, the polar bears on Greenland fit well but the city on northeast Canada seems to be floating.

    I really enjoy this one because it looks like something you’d find in a book for children–like a geography pitcure book. I especially agree with the suggestion the professor gave you about the texture of the water…that’s where my eyes were first drawn to when I looked at the picture.
