This picture is interesting. I can tell it’s about pollution. If you are saying the bad influences of pollution, i think you should put less birds on the sky. And i really don’t understand what is the cute little round monster for?

  2. This is a very intriguing image. Reminds me a bit of Philip Guston, one of my fave painters, because of the somewhat odd intersection of the horizontals and the verticals–especially in the lower right hand corner.
Love the contrast between the dark foreground and the vivid sky–this adds to the sense of depth. The painterly smoke is peculiar and great, in that it stops this from being a completely graphic design. The dark stuff around the top of the picture is a bit awkward–makes it look a bit “outsider art”, but that may simply add to the charm of the image. And that dark stuff framing the top adds a claustrophobic, threatening aspect which adds some psychological dimension. The birds are a little cheesy, but the overall feeling of concern and good-naturedness I feel from this image makes me forgive a bit of cheesiness.

    Thanks for the comment Julie.
And Hp… you’ll see why the little character is there once I show all the 5 images 😛

I really like the overall look and feel of the image. At first I thought the “birds” were bio hazard symbols, well part of them. The brushes you used on the building and the center content really brings out the mix between nature and pollution. One thing I’d lose though, is the grassy edges, the darkened edges draw attention to the detail and concern of pollution, but the grassy brush, could be maybe a transparent gradient so it slowly bring attention to the center, rather than, pow, just being there. I really like the anime character, reminds me of those icons they use to have of the dancing and sleeping balls, way back in junior high.
