Popular police brutality cases

Michael brown:

Michael Brown, was an 18 year old boy who was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, a white police officer, in Ferguson, Missouri. Brown was accused of stealing some cigarettes from a local deli and assaulting the store clerk. When Wilson confronted Brown, he was startled by Browns movements towards him and unloaded 12 shots. It was not clear it Brown surrendered or if he tried to pull a fast one of the officer. Officer Wilson was tried on November 24 and found not guilty. This sparked several movements against the police.

Eric Garner:

Eric Garner was accused of selling loose cigarettes by a bodega. When confronted by the police Garner displayed his distress for being constantly harassed by police. While being arrested Garner tried to struggle which triggered retaliation from officer Daniel Pantaleo who wrapped Garner in a lethal choke hold. On December 3 Officer Pantaelo was found not guilty for the murder of Garner. The movement “I cant breathe” started in honor of Garners murder.
