Bodoni was the typeface that I chose for my descriptive word that I was given, Regal.  I remember using Bodoni for a different project in which I was trying to find a similar typeface to the one use by VOGUE magazine. So I thought that the word ‘regal’ was going to be best represented that word. I wanted to chose a serifs typeface because it would look more decorative and fit well to the meaning for the word.

I found that this assignment was challenging. I also found  that the tracing part was actually much harder to do than freehand. However it open my eyes to the fact that everything in designing a  typeface the devil is in the details. Every single details matter, the amount of spacing each letters have, to the curvature of some of the letter. And also the movie that we watched on Friday really help me understand how these people who design typeface was so purposeful in their process. All in all it really makes me more appreciative to this art form, which many people are not even aware off.
