For my Trace Your Name project, I chose the typeface Bodoni. I chose this because I personally like that typeface. I just look at this typeface from all of choices. I think Bodoni is very simple and not complex one. The most difficult thing for me is how to control the space between Y and I in my first name. Professor had already reminded me this problem in the class, but it is still become the problem during my drawing.
My next words were “THE FANTASTIC.” This is easier because I was allowed to trace/ mimic the worksheet. Tracing was easy with a steady hand and just focus on drawing. The issue was determining the correct spacing between each letter. I was to draw the outline of the letters and then step back from the sheet and analyze the spacing. For my second words, I did not have space problem, so it was used less time. An optical effect of the vertical strokes was correctable by spacing, so that helped me a lot. When I watch my work, I feel so great. I think I choose a right typeface.
