Recently I visited one of the popular artworks in Central Park, and that is the Alice in Wonderland sculpture. It’s very large and bronze and always captured my eye from afar. I visit central park just after church every sunday and this sculpture is the most unique to me because it’s a sculpture of my favorite fairytale. Growing up I would find myself wanting to rewatch the Alice in Wonderland animated movie because it spoke to my fascination with illusions and whimsical themes. The sculpture features Alice sitting on mushrooms and encountering herself with a mad hatter, Cheshire cat, dormouse, and the white rabbit, my moms favorite time freak. Till this day the impact of alice in wonderland has never left, i’ve expanded my collection of art pieces that contribute to the fantasy and abstract world.

I like the part where you mentioned art pieces that contribute to the fantasy and abstract world. I have never noticed how few statues there are that celebrate fictional character. Typically, you can only spot statues of public figures in the past.
I enjoy how by seeing this monument every Sunday, you made a seperate special connection to it and the movie.
I didn’t even know this existed. I need to see this in person. Thank you!
I’ve never seen this statue in Central park, it’s really cool they included it.
This is cool for those Disney fans out there, I never watched the movie but may not consider it after this finding. Perhaps it also serves as a promotion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
