Kobe Memorial

Group: Myron, Shafin, and Yousef

The memorial being proposed includes a cultural icon that has been an influence to millions over the years. We propose a basketball court in honor and memorial of the basketball player Kobe Bryant, who has passed away in the year 2020. This court will include the colors of Kobe Bryant‘s team, a mural on the floor of the court and a hologram in the corner of the court of him saying inspiring messages. This is being proposed locally, but people across the world can see this memorial and be drawn toward our country simply to just see it. The significance of this memorial is attributed to Kobe’s worth ethic, determination, leadership, and success and achievements.

This memorial is needed because it offers the youth a more recent legend who had qualities can change the world if we adopt them. A lot of the other monuments in Madison Square Park doesn’t provide our people with something we can learn to go into the future with. Although some of them may do that it doesn’t do it officially. The future needs something that draws people to visit and actually look at and actually learn about. This is needed now because of how divided our nation is and how we are drifting away from qualities, such as hard-work and determination. People all across our country are getting lazy and can really learn so much from Kobe Bryant. This memorial has been done before, but not in this sense and not in Madison Square, Park. It hasn’t been done in this contact because the park only includes individuals from past our generation. With the media, kids are looking up to individuals from our generation, and if they’re looking up to these people, we might as well give them someone with qualities that we can learn from.

This memorial will be a basketball court that kids and people of all ages can go and play basketball. Many people would say that this will take away from the memorial itself but this is not just a normal basketball court. It’s a basketball court with the colors of Kobe‘s team , and the mural of Kobe himself. Every time someone steps on the court it will remind them of the basketball player whom it is dedicated to. This basketball court will be a typical size basketball court with hoops on both ends of it. It would have places for people to sit and watch. But not just that it would also have a hologram in the corner of the court which lights up and actually speaks when we click a button. It will provide information about who Kobe Bryant was and motivational stuff that will teach kids and people what is needed for the future of humanity. This will draw so many people to it to look to learn and to play. It is 1 million times better than a normal memorial because of the fact it provides futuristic technology and entertainment with access to commemorate someone with important qualities.

This memorial has the capability of changing the future of not just an America, but the world. We need to get rid of standard memorials because we are progressing to the future. People do not want to see normal stuff. They want to see something that they’ve never seen before and this will allow them to appreciate and actually think about the people we are trying to bring honor to. This doesn’t just bring honor to Kobe Bryant, but a lot of people to learn what is necessary to succeed. This is why this memorial is necessary and important. It has the ability of changing the course of humanity.
