End of year reflection

Reflecting on my writing this semester, I’ve noticed a noticeable evolution in my writing. Improvements in grammar, sentence structure, and overall flow have been more apparent. Although I didn’t start the semester with any specific writing goals in mind, as I look back, I can confirm that my writing indeed progressed. It’s reassuring to witness this growth, even without a plan on what I should focus on improving upon.

Amongst all the pieces I’ve written, one that stands out is my movie analysis on “Your Name.” This work holds a special place for me because it allowed me the freedom to go into a subject I’m passionate about. However, the process wasn’t without its challenges. Taking timestamps during the movie to aid my analysis was labor intensive, but the pleasure of revisiting a beloved film made the effort worthwhile. Looking back, I realize the value of careful preparation and its impact on the quality of my work.

However, the memorial piece proved to be a significant challenge. Working on it solo did heightened the difficulty level. But, I tackled it by maintaining focus and taking breaks to optimize my performance. The experience taught me the importance of perseverance and individual commitment in achieving a goal, even in the face of challenges.

In conclusion, this writing journey has been a testament to growth through diverse experiences. From the freedom of analyzing a favorite movie to the struggle of a challenging assignment, each piece contributed to my development as a writer. Looking ahead, I aim to continue this route, embracing both the triumphs and hurdles as essential parts of the learning process.
