Ice Breaker

Hello, my name is Cintia Liao Tan and I am a freshman planning to major in Marketing. The question I chose to answer is “Who are your two best heroes?” My two best heroes would be my parents and grandma because they play an important role in shaping who I am today. Most of my influences and support came from them. I am grateful that my parents have been supporting me financially and emotionally. They would always support my decisions and provide guidance when I faced challenges. As for my grandma, I am grateful that she can bring me happiness, especially in stressful moments. I cherish the moments of watching C-dramas with her and eating the delicious snacks she cooks for me. Overall, my parents and grandma are the main reason I live so happily today.

Two questions I chose to ask my first interviewee, Alisson, were “What are three things you like about yourself” and “Where would you like to go in the world and stay for a year”. For the first question, she answered that her determined attitude towards completing tasks, friendly personality, and role as an older sister were the three things she liked about herself. For the second question, she answered that she would want to go to Mexico because some of her family members live there and she has never been there before. For my second interviewee, Ariel, I asked her to describe an ideal day. She described her ideal day as dedicating time to her hobbies. Initially, she would wake up at 9-10 in the morning to eat breakfast. Then, she would head out to play with her friends or go on a photography trip. After that, she would watch TV and eat dinner. Ending her day with some phone time before sleeping.

  1. Hey Cintia! I relate to your answer. My parents and grandma are the people I view as my best heroes. I have learned a lot from them and their stories. What they’ve taught me has influenced the way I go about life and I am very grateful for them.
