Icebreakers

If I could choose a place to stay for a year, I would choose Singapore. I heard that Singapore is a lovely, clean place. For instance, if you spit gum on the sidewalk, you will get arrested and fined. Singapore would be a nice break from New York. I wouldn’t have to worry about rats on the subway or stepping on poop when walking. I would love to go to the Marina Bay Sands. It is a luxury resort in the center of Singapore’s busy city and is Singapore’s largest hotel. It has the largest rooftop infinity pool. The resort also has many activities, such as theaters, restaurants, and shopping malls. I would love to go to Singapore to relax and enjoy myself.

In class I spoke to Madeline. While I would stay in Singapore for a year. Madeline would choose to stay in Paris for a year. Even though she already went to Paris during the summer, she would like to go to the museums, such as the Louvre. To her, the architecture is amazing. She would love to walk around and appreciate the architecture. She would also like to go to London. She describes her ideal day as being in London at a coffee shop getting work done on her computer. She would also appreciate the view as she sips on her coffee. By speaking with Madeline, I saw her love for European culture. It also made me realize how I also liked Paris.

  1. I love the aspect of traveling to explore the cities for their amazing views and architecture. I am someone who also loves to travel a lot but I have never been to Singapore, Paris, or London. However, those are some of my most anticipated places to visit.

  2. It’s surprising to know that you can get arrested and fined for spitting gum on the sidewalk of Singapore. Singapore seems to be a good place for vacations. Thank you for letting me learn more about Singapore. I hope you get the chance to go there someday.
