Hello! I’m Lima Chowdhury and I am currently a freshman with a major in computer science. I am Bangladeshi American and currently commuting to Baruch from Queens. To get to know a little more about me I will be sharing some memories I made that happened in January before the semester started. This past month I traveled to Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh with my mother. This was my first time traveling outside the country (unless you count traveling at 6 months old) so it was very exciting especially because I am getting to experience it with my mother. I went to Saudi to complete my Umrah which is the Islamic pilgrimage. This was the most life-changing experience for me and brought an incredible amount of peace into my life. After Saudi, we went to Bangladesh where I met my cousins, aunts, and uncles for the first time. And as a family-oriented person, it was the most amazing two and a half weeks for me because every day was eventful and fun. I landed in New York last Saturday and it has been hard to adjust back to my regular life but I am excited to see what this semester has in store for me.
During class, I talked to King. She is an international student from Myanmar who came to New York about a year ago. I asked King if she liked New York so far and she said so far she has been enjoying it but we both agree that it can get chaotic in this city. She is also a freshman who is commuting from Queens and is majoring in international business.
