For my creative remix project, I will research how the Black Panther Party set a precedent for future protesting reform groups due to their effective influence and passion for their cause. During the time in which the BPP was most prominent, they used fashion and music to expand their influence among people in society. The BPP also was not intimidated by the police to ignite a willingness in others to stand up against the corrupt police who intentionally targeted African Americans in our society.
Present-day BLM and other protesting movements for current events happening worldwide have each adopted a tactic used by the Black Panther Party to maintain influence and bring awareness to their cause. Many people don’t speak about the immense influence that the Black Panther Party had and still has. As a result, this is what I wanted to orient my project to focus on.
