It’s hard to choose one’s passions as each has such an impact on our everyday lives and others. Passions are something that we do naturally, not caring about anything in the world, time flying as if it were nothing. For me, my three passions are video games, football, and family.
In this modern age of technology, video games have become a staple of entertainment with a plethora of genres to choose from. I for one recall owning my first ever gaming platform, the Nintendo DS, when I was young accompanied by Super Mario Bros. Bowser’s Inside Story. From there I was fascinated by video games and my interest for more grew even more leading me to discover new genres and more platforms. What I believe makes video games fun is the imagination that the developers have created and allowing us players to experience it. Now, I don’t play many video games as I have more things to tend to but whenever I have the chance, my mind goes on adventure mode.
This is a new passion that I’ve gotten myself into. I did know about the sport but just never paid much attention to it as I had other things going on in my life. Only recently when I decided to go back into the sport have I realized that I love it. From the simplicity of the game to the tactics being used, from the passionate fanbases I’ve discovered, and the multitude of teams around the world each bringing their spin into the game, football has opened my eyes to the excitement that I’ve been missing out. I enjoy watching football matches with my friends and rarely give up the opportunity to play even if it’s passing the ball around, I enjoy every moment of it. My favorite thing to do with football is to talk with others about the sport from the players and teams to politics within the game, and most especially the games and tournaments of this beautiful sport. I’m referring to soccer btw.
Lastly, an important passion of mine is family, specifically making memories with them, even if some are bad. We all need family, from raising us when we’re weak, to supporting one another and accomplishing and making impacts with each other. It can be as simple as going on a walk in the park, opening a business, all the way to working together and helping others out, family is one of the greatest things one can have in life. It’s a gift that keeps on giving, something that we should value every second of it.
Without passions, one cannot be anything because from these passions goals can arise from them, and if there’s no goal then what’s even the point? Passions are part of the living experience, without them, what beloved memories would one treasure for the rest of their lives? It’s important to find a passion, not only to kill time but to also make life as enjoyable as one can because when that ends, you’ll be happy for what you’ve done.
I like how you mentioned bad memories because no one really thinks back to them, but sometimes good can come from them.
I agree when you said that passions are something that we do blindly I look at it that way as well.
I really like how you ended it off on why it is important to have passions, you had a really good point.
