Final Reflection

Throughout this Spring semester, my writing has gotten a lot better as I moved from ENG 2100 to ENG 2150. ENG 2100 taught me what to write, and ENG 2150 showed me how to write better. This class made me realize I’m more creative than I thought and helped me understand cultural stuff through things like critical race theory. I learned to look at topics from different angles and use critical thinking in my writing. This journey has been really rewarding and showed me I can do more than I thought. The stuff I learned in this class also helped me in other subjects, and it made me want to set new writing goals for future classes.

One piece of writing I’m really proud of is my analysis of the Black Panther Party and Black Lives Matter. I was in a good writing groove, and everything came together easily. I also liked my response to a New York Times article about how my relationship with school changed after the coronavirus pandemic. This assignment let me think deeply about my experiences, and the writing felt natural and engaging. It was a moment of personal insight that turned into a great piece of writing. This piece helped me develop a style I can recognize, and positive feedback from my peers and professor made me feel proud.

The Women in Red project was really tough for me. It was hard to keep the writing smooth because the research was harder compared to Project 1. Even with the challenges, I appreciated the professor’s help and the early morning class, which set a good tone for the day. This experience taught me the importance of sticking with it and adapting when things get tough. Looking at the finished piece now, I see how much effort went into overcoming the obstacles, and it has given me valuable insights for future academic challenges. This experience has made me want to improve my research skills and stay strong when faced with tough assignments.
