Personal reflection

In this course, I learn more than I expected. The first experience with 3D printing and see my work printing out from the cube shape printer is really amazing. Beside simply learning software designing, the collaboration group work with applying design thinking method fully expend my knowledge about 3D designing and thinking.  I go to Maker Hub station at Baruch, and build prototype with my teammates. The process of sharing idea, collaborating work, and exploring different kind possibilities in Maker Hub are enjoyful and challenging. We build our prototype for library use from the circus kits, which none of us have any idea about circus or physics. We just try out every piece and the final work really surprise all of us. The exploration of new things and turn it into our uses are really fun. I’m good at finding the relationship between things and help build the first part. My strength contributes to my team and our work project, and my teammate further develop the use of these relationships.

What I learn from all the studio works, real world event and team work shape my view of 3D printing. The design thinking and finding the use of it are far more beyond knowing software. When I first choose the course, I just want to learn how to use software and design things. Designing work is not easy as I thought, and I face a lot problem with software. For example, fail to notice I build a empty design instead of solid project when I finished. The more practice I made and consults with Mohammad help me overcome these problems. I think this course offers more than just the enjoyment and torture from 3D designing, but also the excitement of accomplishing a complicate group work.  We still have more group works coming up, and I think my strength in connecting things together, will be further developed with all the challenge works ahead.
