IVING Penn Exhibition Impression
When I first see Irving Penn exhibition, first thing come into my mind is fashion. As fashion becomes old fashion on average annually, his work has been the long-time fashion. His works on fashion have distinctive traits that people can easily remember. Such as the exaggeration of the mermaid dress, and the standard beauty of the model. He made fashion into an art. The esthetic view of the photography can preserve as fashion move on. After years have passed, old fashion still catches attention.
The second most noticeable photographs are still live. There is not much dynamic going to still life. Basically, it is boring, but the way he arranges the objects really make a good photograph, making a boring subject seem more interesting. For example, teaspoons, wind, bun, cabbage by itself is not interesting. He took daily life object place out of a daily context. Such as he pours red and white wine into a tailspin, decorate with green on the side, and bun, plus black sea on the other, makes a very interesting composition.
