- Idea#1: Friends have the most intense moments when things get competitive. My video will consist of two friends that start of just chilling laughing until the gauntlet is thrown down and they enter a series of events to test who is #1
- Idea#2: In the early 2000’s chef Boyardee released a commercial where the kid was sad he couldn’t get a can so somehow the can rolled all the way to his home. I wanna do something similar with my wallet since many people lose there wallets and never see them or their money ever again. This will be the point of view of the wallet making his way back to his owner through the city on trains, through parks, crossing streets, etc..
- Idea#3: The day the life of a dog. I will film a Boston Terrier as he goes about his day normally but I will narrate the voice over to give more of a point of view shot. Shots will be filmed in the home and the park.

Working Title: A Closer Look at The Bronx
Topic: Showing the differences in the North vs South Bronx
The Bronx is one of the poorest congressional districts in the US, I want to focus on the poor & wealthy.
The highlights would be the differences in certain neighborhoods, parks & building structures. More specifically, the different layouts of the neighborhoods and the different ways of living in both areas.
Some of the neighborhoods I would like to focus on are in the South Bronx: Hunt Points, Fordham Rd, 149 Street and on the flip side the wealthy neighborhoods like Riverdale, Castle Hill and Pelham Bay.
Opening shot: “Welcome to the Bronx” sign or rooftop shot
Other shots: buildings, businesses(differences in restaurants, food vendors, street vendors), sidewalks(differences in sanitation practices), driving roads(double parking, lack of parking), neighborhoods, train stop posts, buses,
Music: not sure yet
Editing: fast-pace video comparisons, possibly side to side
Visual Poem Pitch
Title: “promise that you will sing about me”
The idea would be a voice over poem while I showcase museum statues and local oceans. Shots of different times of day of ocean views, mixed with associated statues which will have more obvious facial expressions.
Although I’m not quite sure how I’ll focus the audio to the shots, I wanted to make an original poem for this project and convey a more philosophical tone surrounding it. I think throughout the shots I’ll show myself doing mundane things, like sitting or just staring outwardly at a park or a beach.
The goal would be for it to seem very reminiscent and introspective, but with open interpretation for you to decide whether this is a state of contentedness, nostalgia, regret, etc. I wanna keep it relatively open so that the viewer interprets it based on their current feelings when watching.
I’ve been looking at Lofi Beats as a background noise since I want to write and say a poem, I do want some neutral but calm beats tied to the video. The shots are going to be different times of day, angles, and transitions to have a flow that aligns with the audio.

Matias Csillag
For my visual poem, I have two possible directions I can take this assignment.
The first being a 2 minute segment which I would title “nature in winter”, painting a picture into the way nature changes in the colder months. From frozen waterfalls to animals in the snow. I would put the clips to light, slow music, similar to the “Planet Earth” or “Our Planet” series. Being in Northern New Jersey, I have plenty of access to parks and beautiful look outs with nature so I feel I would have enough content. My main concern would be if the weather while filming or around the time of filming is extreme enough to make it clear this is about winter.
My second Idea would be covering the buildup and aftermath of the 2024 State Of The Union address by President Biden in Washington, DC. I would open with purposefully shaky video of the capitol dome from the highway. Then go into some security setup on Capitol Hill and the White House press briefing if there is one on the 7th. I would film lawmaker arrival and motorcades but I will not be inside the Capitol for the speech itself which eliminates the middle part unless I film the watch party I attend. I would end on myself getting ready for my stand up concluding on a clip of my stand up (speaking about speech and outro) and then the video goes dark. My concerns with this project will be timing. If I have enough time thought my trip to do this project justice.
Visual Poem Pitches
My pitch is taking shots of the city, representing the chaotic nature of moving around the tri-state area.
Another idea is having a religious figure and following their day doing activities such as praying, meetings at the UN, and have a shot of iftar dinner.
Another idea is making sweets & cooking and showing the process of making it, showing the tension for striving for perfection in making sure all is going right yet have a ominous story behind it of who the subject is and their activities

Dating back all the way to the 1960s, Brooklyn was one of NYC’s key neighborhoods that further developed the graffiti movement. Although it’s illegal in NYC, graffiti is an expression of identity and an outlet for creativity. For the visual poem, I want to focus on the topic of art, more specifically, graffiti art in Brooklyn. I believe that art makes New York City what it is and also defines who the people are that create these are pieces.
In this visual poem, I want to convey the message that art doesn’t have to be traditional to be considered art, and that it can be quite literally anything. I think graffiti art is a good way to display this message. For the project I’ll have full access to getting the footage I need. In terms of sound, I am thinking of using something upbeat or fast pace, because when I think of NYC those are the sounds, I hear. I’m also thinking of including some natural sound, like the sound of heavy traffic. I want the overall video to be somewhat fast-paced, but not to the point where anything is a missed. I’m also thinking that it would be good to put some of the clips in black and white to emphasize the importance of including colors that pop in graffiti art.
Possible shots: Graffiti on high and low walls, in transit stations, on bridges, and any graffiti that can be found on vehicles.

“Yearning” -Visual Poem Pitch
Title: YEARNING
Concept (semi-fictional):
Last week, I lost my one of my AirPods on a field trip.
Tracking it revealed that the thief is taking it around the City. I tried contacting them, but they responded with not-so-nice words and taunts by sending videos of the lone AirPod in front of different locations.
The other AirPod is alone and sad — yearning for its partner.
This video documents the efforts to reunite them.
Composition:
Told from the perspective of an AirPod as it journeys through the streets of New York longing to find its companion.
Style:
AirPod in the foreground and iconic locations in the background.
Music:
Sounds recorded on a recording device to capture the City and its chaotic atmosphere.
Background music (from Youtube audio/Royalty free music) to match the mood and tone of the visuals.
Editing Style:
Use of split screens, fast paced edits and slow-mo shots to anthropomorphize the AirPods and tell their love story.
