What is outcomes assessment?

What is Outcomes Assessment?

Matthew Gulliford discusses assessment at the School of Public Affairs.Outcomes assessment is the process of setting goals, determining how well those goals are being met, and determining the best course of action to take to improve those results.

This can take the form of either reworking the goalsĀ or rethinking the methods being used to reach them. Often a little bit of both solutions is optimal.

A document discussing the distinction between learning goals and teaching goals is availablehere.

For information on how to create an assessment of your own, please read through this page.
