As a member of the Baruch Honors Program, I would have to say that we do owe something more to our community. As members of the Honors Program we should present ourselves as people who go above and beyond average in the things we do. We are seen as more than just role models inside the school setting but also outside for the world. It is our job to be leaders in doing positive things for the community. We are strong and able to take initiative in ways that other people can not. We should put these skills to good use and appreciate them. The Honors Program is obviously a huge promoter of bettering the community seeing as we all had to provide adequate community service experience to be accepted into it. By being in the Honors Program and getting involved in the community, we are rewarded in so many ways. Of course, the obvious being the scholarship and MacBook, but we all know there is more to it. There is that satisfaction you get when you know you’ve helped someone and made a difference. By being in the Honors Program we are given the opportunity to study abroad or use our scholarship money to fund research projects which could very well be useful in work for the community. By being respected members of the Program we are really able to turn our ideas and skills into a reality and make our community a better place.
