I am now in the second half of my first semester at Baruch College, and boy what a bunch of changes have I experienced! The college experience so far has been absolutely fantastic for me. I have met a lot of new people, learned a great amount of new things, and have completely readjusted to a new and differently lifestyle – my college lifestyle. However, I am extremely proud and honored to say that I have done all of this not as a Baruch student, but as a Baruch Scholar, a true privilege. Throughout these past few months I have noticed the multitude of things that are going on here on campus, especially those that the Scholars like I can participate in.
Unfortunately I have not yet taken part in the events and other things going on here on campus. I have been very focused this first semester on my studies and making sure that I can adjust properly to the studying in college and do well. I am glad to say that I am well on my way to doing that and that makes me very happy since slowly but steadily I can become more involved as a Baruch Scholar.
I intend to do many things next semester and there are already so many things that interest me. After hearing the presentation in Freshman Orientation from the officers of the Baruch Humanics Association, I immediately knew that is something I want to join. I intend to do this next semester. There are also several other clubs and organizations that I intend to join or at least become more aware of. Very soon I plan to take advantage of some of the educational assistance that is offered here at Baruch such as the SACC Center.
All in all, there are just so many opportunities that are available here at Baruch for Baruch Scholars, and although I haven’t become involved in them yet, I plan to really do so at the beginning of next semester.
