As a Baruch Scholar, I am granted with an endless amount of opportunities to expand my educational horizons and to learn. With so many opportunities such as participating in challenging honor courses, studying abroad, and interacting with other intellectual Scholars, I am able to learn a lot. With this, I feel my duty is to be an effective role model and to set an example for other regular Baruch students who witness my activeness in the school community. Other students can be motivated from my practices too as they strive to study harder and to become a part of more clubs.
With all these many opportunities that the Baruch school has given me, I also feel that it is my duty to give back as well. The Baruch school granted me as a Scholar because I worked hard in high school and deserve a reward. However, other aspects of the world need help as well and do not receive much attention that they need. For my community service project, I am working at an animal shelter. Many of these animals are mistreated and because they are animals, they are not able to voice their problems. However, these animals do deserve care and that is why I believe I should help them.
From Baruch and its countless opportunities, I have learned to give back just the same way Baruch has given to me.
