Anthony Ghiozzi was one of 10 Staten Island Advance employees inducted into the newspaper’s 25-Year Club. He is a district manager is the newspaper’s circulation department. CPA Bruce Kramer, a partner with J.H. Cohn and a member of the firm’s medical industry practice, has been appointed to the board of trustees of Monmouth Medical Center, in Long Branch, N.J. Kramer is VP of the board of the New Jersey Medical Group Management Association as well as a member of the executive committee of the Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce.  Fred Lichtenberg is the author of murder mysteries Hunter’s World (Five Star), published in May, and the recently penned Double Trouble. He also wrote and directed a one-act play about finding love in a nursing home, The Second Time Around . . . Again, for the Lake Worth (Fla.) Playhouse.

In July Millie García was appointed to the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics by President Obama. She is president of California State University, Dominguez Hills, the first Latina president in the California State University System. She holds a Doctor of Education as well as a Master of Arts in higher education administration from Teachers College, Columbia University. Stephen J. Pearlman (MBA) has joined Molinaro Koger, the global hotel-exclusive real estate firm, as managing director, Capital Markets Group. He was previously senior managing director at Beacon Hospitality Partners. Pearlman is an adjunct professor in the MS program of NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.
