Alan Weiner

Ambrose Murtagh (MBA ’69) published his memoir, Life Is a Game: This Is How I Played It (Xlibris), which applies the lessons and values of football to overcoming life’s obstacles. Murtagh, who is retired and lives in New York City, is a SCORE business counselor. Room 5-160 in the Newman Vertical Campus was recently named the Richard A. Samber ’63 Lecture Hall to commemorate his gift to the Class Act campaign. Samber, who dedicated the room to his parents, is the retired CFO, Weight Watchers International. Alan E. Weiner has been selected as the 2012–13 chairman of the IRS Garden City (Long island) Tax Practitioner Liaison Committee. A founding tax partner, now tax partner emeritus, at Holtz Rubenstein Reminick, he has been reappointed to a third term (2012–13) as a judge on the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Excellence in Financial Journalism Awards Committee.

Robert Brooks, a clinical psychologist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, is the author or co-author of 15 books. His most recent, Raising Resilient Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, is the fifth book in a series for McGraw-Hill, including Raising Resilient Children and The Power of Resilience: Achieving Balance, Confidence, and Personal Strength in Your Life.

Sandra and Lawrence Simon

In late 2011, Baruch College Fund (BCF) Trustee Lawrence Simon was honored by Baruch College at a room dedication ceremony, which christened the impressive Newman Vertical Campus Room 14-220 the Sandra and Lawrence Simon Conference Room. Simon (shown with his wife) recently completed a three-year term as BCF president.
