Dorothy (Connie) Behrens, senior associate at Abalos & Associates, has earned her CPA certification, allowing her to handle additional work beyond the tax compliance and research she previously performed. She has been with the firm since March 2011. Investment Analyst Zaineb Bokhari has been appointed head of investor relations at Syntel, Inc., a global information technology services firm. Most recently she covered the software and financial technology sectors for Standard & Poor’s. Her research and commentary have been featured in such media outlets as Bloomberg, BusinessWeek, PBS Nightly Business Report, and the Wall Street Journal. Executives on Campus (EOC) mentor Leslie Grand attended EOC’s fall 2011 Mentor for Morning event. She is VP and director of integrated media at Carat Trade, a unit of Aegis Media. Angela Jefferson is the director of social services at Harlem RBI, a nonprofit that helps inner-city youth realize their potential through baseball, softball, and academic programs. John Milano (MPA) has been promoted to senior VP and deputy regional manager at Hill International, the construction risk management firm. Meir Strahlberg is the co-founder and chief executive of Avalanche, a Miami-based dating website company. Among its sites are Date.com and Matchmaker.com, plus several niche sites, including Jewcier.com, Amor.com, and GayDating.com.

Lynda Brooks has been named assistant treasurer for the Church Extension Financial and Missional Resources Inc. (CEFMR), a general ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Maureen Fox (MPA) has been appointed director of development at Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York. She has also served as director of development at both the American Foundation for the Blind, Inc., and Long Island Cares, Inc. Zhitao Lu (MBA) is a senior manager at Milestone Partners as well as president and founder of Skytop JLC Associates LLC. He won the Charles Waldo Haskins Award from the NYS Society of CPAs for placing #1 in the state on the May 1992 CPA exam. Sean O’Loughlin recently performed co-leading roles in the off-off Broadway productions of The Iceman Cometh and Arms and the Man at the Producers Club in New York City. Patricia Thierry Sheridan (EMBA), president of health information management firm Care Communications Inc., was recently awarded fellowship status in the American Health Information Management Association. She also serves as president-elect on the association’s board of directors.

Butler (MBA) has been named CEO of Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., a firm focused exclusively on the development and commercialization of new treatment options for people with hemophilia. He joins Inspiration from Genzyme Corporation, where he served as president of the company’s rare genetic diseases business. Kurt Kiess (MS) is a partner in the Woodbury, N.Y., office of the accounting firm Marks Paneth & Shron. Through his affiliation with Swim Across America, he participates in long-distance swims to raise money for cancer research. Kevin M. McGeachy (MBA) has been appointed executive director at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) of New York. For the past two years, he has served as CCMC’s deputy executive director. Former CEO and president of Davidson Media Group Felix Perez (MBA) has been named general manager of Univision Radio in New York City, where he now oversees WXNY-FM, WADO-AM, and WQBU-FM.

Daphne Yan Huang has been appointed CFO of Lihua International, Inc., a Chinese developer, designer, and manufacturer of alternatives to pure copper products. She previously served as executive VP of corporate finance and director of investor relations at the company.

Adrian Cornelius (MSEd) was appointed university registrar at University of Maryland, College Park. In November (Stacey) Jonathan Zepp was included in the Hollywood Reporter’s annual “35 Under 35.” He heads strategic content partnerships for Google/YouTube.

Last summer Colonel David J. Hilber was named executive officer for the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Portfolio at the U.S. Army Public Health Command. A Distinguished Alumni Award (MPA) was conferred on Jeffrey S. Rodus (MPA) at the Baruch College Community Reception in December. He serves at first deputy director of the Finance Division of the New York City Council. The reception celebrated Baruch’s community partnerships and thanked legislators and friends for their hard work and support of the College.
