Just because you’ve graduated doesn’t mean that you can’t still listen to lectures, catch a jazz performance, or even “attend” a Bearcats basketball game. With iTunes U, Baruch College is virtually at your fingertips.
The iTunes U program allows educators to create and distribute content through a free application that is downloaded to a computer or to a mobile or tablet device. Content can range from audio and video to books—basically anything that can be downloaded to the Apple-hosted site.
For anyone enrolled in an academic course, the benefits can be immeasurable. Still confused about how to solve a problem in applied calculus? Baruch math professor Walter Wang takes you step-by-step in his video tutorials.
For alumni, iTunes U offers access to multimedia content from all three of Baruch’s schools as well as from the Newman Library, the Baruch Performing Arts Center (BPAC), and CUNY TV. Patrick Ackerman, director of web services at Baruch, says that a convenient feature of iTunes U is the subscription option, whereby new content is automatically downloaded to your “library” once it becomes available.
Even better, it’s all free—so there’s no reason not to take full advantage of all that’s offered!
