Puneet Bhagchandani (MBA), the youngest social entrepreneur to receive the Bharat Gaurav (Pride of India) Award for his contributions to education and sciences, was honored at a ceremony in New Delhi in May. He is CEO of the Keystone Group of Institutions, a residential college that he co-founded in 2010. Ann Yu Wei Huang has published a book of poetry, Love Rhythms (Finishing Line Press). She is currently enrolled in the MFA program in poetry at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Man-Keung (Andy) Lau (MBA), a VP at Jerome Haims Realty, a real estate appraisal and consulting firm, was recently awarded an MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.

David Knafo (MBA) has joined HSBC Private Bank as a senior VP and senior relationship manager. He was previously a private banker at Safra National Bank of New York. Heather Siegal Miller (MBA), a health care lawyer and senior counsel with the Miami and Boca Raton offices of the Florida law firm Broad and Cassel, was elected to the board of directors of the Palm Beach County Medical Society Services, Inc.

Katherine Alcebar (MA) is a financial analyst at UBS Investment Bank. She lives in Bayonne, N.J. Nicole Valentine has joined Friedberg Properties, based in Tenafly, N.J., as a real estate agent. She is pursuing a degree in interior design from the New York School of Interior Design.

Daniel Mencher (MPA) was recently appointed deputy chief financial officer, Bureau of Diplomatic Security at the U.S. Department of State. Elias Rodriguez (MPA) is a public information officer for the Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2 (New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and eight tribal nations).

Gary Bagley (EMPA) is executive director of New York Cares, the volunteer clearinghouse that coordinates more than 55,000 volunteers in 1,200 different nonprofits and city agencies. In May Derek Bronsky was named a recipient of the 2011 Elijah Watt Sells Award, given to candidates who obtain a cumulative average score above 95.5 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA examination and who passed all four sections on their first attempt. Only 37 of the 90,000 candidates who took the exam in 2011 met the criteria. In June CCNY appointed Praveen Panchal (MBA) VP for information technology and CIO. The City College alum had been CIO at John Jay College of Criminal Justice since 2006. Formerly interim assistant provost for special and professional programs at John Jay College, Ben Rohdin (EMPA) was appointed associate dean, School of Criminal Justice, Rutgers University. Ofer Vadel (MBA) has joined HSBC Private Bank as a VP and relationship manager. He formerly served as relationship manager, in addition to other positions, at Bank Hapoalim.

Amy Kline (MPA) was recently appointed accreditation coordinator and senior administrator at Bank Street College of Education. Angela Louie Howard (MPA) is the founder of Lotus Bloom Child and Family Resource Center in Oakland, Calif. The nonprofit, which launched in 2008, provides resources, playgroups, and community support to more than 200 families each week. Samantha Stevens recently opened Oatmeals, an East Village restaurant serving gourmet variations on the cereal.

Ibrahim Abdul-Matin (MPA) has joined the Frontier Project as a consultant. He was formerly sustainability policy adviser to N.Y.C. Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In August Asli Gallo (MS) completed the 2012 Ironman U.S. Championship Race, which took place in the New York metropolitan area for the first time (ranking 1,729 out of 2,739 overall). An accountant with municipal public employee union District 37, she is currently pursuing a second MS in taxation at Baruch. Dawn Lee (MS), World’s Kitchen’s director of marketing for Asia, was one of the judges for Marketing magazine’s 2012 Agency of the Year Awards, Singapore. Lee has more than 20 years of marketing management experience in health care and consumer packaged goods. Nergui Manalsuren (MPA) is living in Vancouver, British Columbia, and working as project coordinator at Prophecy Platinum and Prophecy Coal Corporation.

Jesse Potash is the founder of Pubslush, a publishing platform for authors to crowdsource the funds needed to publish their works.  With every book sold through Pubslush, the company donates a book to a child in need. Troy Willitt (EMPA) relocated to Washington, D.C., in June to assume his new position as in-house counsel for the Association of Public Health Laboratories.
