In May Claire Mason accepted an honor in behalf of her husband, Eli (’40, LHD [Hon.] ’78), from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), which posthumously inducted him into its Hall of Fame. Mason passed away in August 2009 at the age of 88.

In May the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants created the Sidney Kess Award for Excellence in Continuing Education. The award recognizes individual CPAs who have made significant contributions in tax and financial planning. A CPA and attorney, Kess is an author and lecturer who was recently selected Most Influential Practitioner by CPA Magazine.

Arthur Rubenstein recently chaired Congregation Adath Jeshurun’s first veterans’ Sabbath in its 151 years of existence. The synagogue is located in Elkins Park, Penn.
