Some other ideas and sites that I found fruitful in the classroom include:
The Morgan Library and Museum: I made a paper assignment based on the primary documents in the Alice in Wonderland Exhibit, but they also have educational programming. Even though they focus on secondary education, they are more than happy to work with college students. The programming staff is great, and I imagine there programs might work for some folks Great Works courses.
The Center for Book Arts: It’s amazing. They have workshops and talks on a variety of subjects. They often have a fee for the cheese and wine, but they are so happy to have young people that they will take a pay what you can for students.
Social Media Annotated Bibliography projects (In this twist on the traditional annotated bibliography, I present the annotated bibliography as a means to inform some group on social media. You discuss with students how to adapt the annotation to various platforms and audiences.)
