Instructor Bio

Welcome! My name is Professor Green (pronouns: she/her)

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I use personal experiences growing up in pre-gentrified, Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood as a backdrop to explore the intersections of Blackness. I’ve always questioned the academic system laid out for my community.

My early interests trickled down to inspire my academic career as I went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in English honors, with a double minor in Africana Studies honors and Political Science, from John Jay College. In May 2020, I graduated from St. John’s University with a Master’s degree in English. In fall 2020, I began working towards a PhD in English with a concentration in rhetoric and composition from The CUNY Graduate Center.

As a PhD Candidate, my research and dissertation explores Black women’s storytelling and re-imagining archives and archival materials.
