My linguistic landscape will be about my hometown of Corona in Queens. I have lived in Corona for all 18 years of my life. Growing up, I really did not think much about my neighborhood. It was only until recently, that I have traveled to different places and realized how incredible Corona is. As of now, I plan on focusing on the rich history and diversity of the neighborhood. I want to incorporate pictures of restaurants, delis, and other establishments that show the diversity of the neighborhood and how the demographics have changed. In order to show the history of the community, I also want to show some famous landmarks and establishments. The picture I included, is of Mama’s Backyard Cafe located on 104th St and 46th Ave. This bakery is a landmark of the neighborhood and its Italian roots. Corona was once a predominately Italian neighborhood and this bakery is one of the few remaining establishments still there.
